CONCRETE POST is a collaborative who explores the known and felt experience through a sensitive engagement with Concrete Art, light, colour, time and materiality. Sculptures, paintings, photographs and digital video are arranged into a composite artwork that unfolds over time and reveals itself through curiosity and observation.

Exhibition: Interweaving Archives

The Interweaving Archives project will be on display at l'Arxiu Comarcal de l'Urgell (ACUR) until 20 July.

The project explores how my own personal photographic archive intersected with the photographic collections at ACUR over the residency period. One of the outcomes of this project was a limited edition postcard series that features an image from each archive on either side of the card. The lack of descriptive information attributed to the ACUR collections was used as stimulus to explore and construct meaning, through subjective, intuitive responses.

This project was made possible through the Residència de creació Program, Departament de Cultura. Generalitat de Catalunya / Ministry of Culture. Government of Catalonia.

The archive as a site of creative regeneration:

I am delighted to announce that, as part of the ACUR Residency Program, I have the opportunity to spend 3 weeks exploring the photographs held in The Arxiu Comarcal de l'Urgell- a public archive based in Tàrrega, in the Urgell region of Catalunya.

I will be focusing on how the regions’ architecture and topography have been represented in the past, and how the material has been described, catalogued and made accessible to the public. This research will intersect into my own subjective experience of being based in Tàrrega and its regional surrounds and will impact upon my visual enquiry.

Further details of the public program soon to come! Follow my instagram for further updates

An Empty Greenhouse
Artist-in-Residence at La Maison Verte

I spent 1 month working in the Jardin botanique de Marnay-sur-Seine in France, hosted by the La Maison Verte Residency Program. I brought works together in the Empty Greenhouse. I utilised the tables (normally used to organise botanical species) to explore subtle and playful connections between the imagery, the light and architecture of the Greenhouse and with elements of the surrounding garden.  Ordering of knowledge, archiving of image and systems of display were at the core of this project.
